Bow Skills Talk: Creating and Expanding your Networks, with Creative Access

Tue - 04/08/20

6:30 PM - 8:30 PM

Bow Arts Trust , 183 Bow Rd, Bow, London E3 2SJ, UK

Event Details

Join us for a session on networking and navigating life as a freelancer in the arts sector, with leading diversity organisation Creative Access. This will be an interactive talk from Creative Access about:

  • how to start developing a network / the different methods and tactics
  • challenges/difficulties you might face when starting out – with a particular focus on BAME practitioners
  • how to tap into existing networks
  • what to do/not to do when introducing yourself

Creative Access is one of the UK’s leading diversity organisations. It fills a gap in the current creative landscape by helping young people from under-represented communities (including black, Asian and other non-white minority ethnic or BAME backgrounds, as well as those with a lower socioeconomic or lower SES status) to secure both jobs and paid training opportunities in creative companies.

More details on this session will be announced soon.

Bow Arts seeks to support creative professionals at all stages of their careers. In 2015 Bow Arts launched Bow Skills in response to an artist survey which showed over 90% of practicing artists find it useful to receive further support outside formal education. Bow Skills is a dynamic and relevant programme of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) which is informed by an artist steering group and open to all creative practitioners across London. The programme of talks, panel discussions, new skills labs and peer crits is open to all, with concession rates available to Bow Arts artists and students.
