Debut Zine Launch SAWTI #01

Wed - 05/02/20

7:00 PM - 9:30 PM

Autograph, Rivington Pl, Shoreditch, London EC2A 3BA, UK

Event Details

Join us to celebrate the launch of Sawti's debut zine. The night will include poetry readings in Kiswahili, Arabic and English - alongside visuals from artists based in Tanzania, Sudan, Rwanda, the UK and elsewhere.

Sawti was founded by Sumia Jaama to connect East African poets to their counterparts in the diaspora through conversation and collaboration. The platform engages and represents a multitude of voices that represent what it means to be East African and writing today.

Featuring performances by Ada B, Eljae, and Ola Elhassan. There will also be an in-conversation with Rehema Chachage and Amaal Said, and a screening of Sawti's commissioned film.

All ticket holders who attend the event will receive a free copy of the Sawti zine.
