Event Details

Spend an afternoon exploring how the virtual and physical worlds relate, and be part of creating a mixed reality experience. Work in pairs to build modelling clay shapes, inspired by Rebecca Allen's VR work, which Paula Strunden will help transform into a virtual world, allowing you to experience your creations through a VR headset.

Virtual Fruits is an educational initiative co-founded by architect/immersive designers Paula Strunden and Alex Anderson in 2018. Together with students and immersive enthusiasts from all age groups, Virtual Fruits create tactile mixed-reality environments and explore new forms of sensorial design. In their workshops Paula and Alex mix cutting edge technologies with analogue drawing and DIY making tools. The participants outputs range from 360 stop-motion films to location-based VR installations to 3D printed virtual sketches and hand-crafted mixed-reality sculptures. To get the most from this workshop, we recommend kids are aged 8 - 13. There must be at least one accompanying adult per three participants.
