Event Details

An introduction to forming ceramics by pinching and building with coils. Explore these slow, hand-shaping methods that involve squeezing and pressing the plastic clay. Working with terracotta, this is a hands on session for anyone interested in working with clay. You will discover the relationship between the clay and weight and finished product and how our hands affect the shape. By the end of the session you will produce a plate or a bowl or another object. The work is going to be fired and will need to be collected from Turf.

Groundwerk is a monthly series of free practical workshops for artists and creatives wishing to gain the skills to support their practice.

This workshop is free to attend and open to all but booking is recommended, as spaces are limited. Children of attendees are very welcome to join!
