Three artists from the same family, Francis, Julia and Robert Mason exhibit together for the first time. Incorporating painting, drawing, collage, photography and sculpture, Mason, Mason and Mason presents an exciting selection of work that complements their different practices.
Francis Mason’s work aims to disrupt and challenge perceptions of architectural space through manipulation of photographic images, altered surfaces and sculptural objects. He was selected as an emerging new talent for ‘Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2009’.
Julia Mason studied Fine Art Sculpture at Central School of Art and Experimental Media at the Slade. A qualified nurse, she has developed a socially engaged art practice informed by her public health work.
Robert Mason’s work has been described as “almost abstract essays in light, colour and gesture that, in spite of their scale, have the intensity and drama of huge baroque melodramas." (Sarah Kent). It is included in collections including The Arts Council, British Council, V&A, British Museum and The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
