Event Details

Paula Olley is our newest artist, having recently joined the Collective. We are delighted to present her painterly works as Featured Artist in Skylark: Oxo.

Paula was born in the UK, but her early childhood was spent within the vast and stunning Australian landscape.

Her family moved quite a lot over the years and her dream was to go back to Australia one day . She has travelled and lived in various countries but it wasn’t until two years ago that she finally returned to Australia. This body of work was inspired by that visit. Paula has tried to capture some of the beauty and realism she experienced but also to evoke some of the childhood magic that still lives in her memories. She uses oil paint on canvas and chalk pastels on coloured paper. The sizes vary from small pieces which are often studies to very large paintings which can take years to complete.

You can meet Paula at the gallery on Sunday 9th February and on Sunday 23rd February between 12 and 6pm On 23rd Feb she will give a short talk about her work around 2pm.

In response to the tragic bush fires in Australia, Paula will be donating 25% of the proceeds of any sales from these artworks to charities supporting the victims of the fires.

Exhibition runs until 6th March
