“Postcards to you” explores the power of art as a therapy. In this series the artist follows the thread of her own memories and absences by using an assemblage of found imagery depicting family life as a trigger to unlock her own childhood memories. Notably she couples these with text to give strangers personal connotations. Through impressing her own identity, the artist is able to wistfully convey a feeling of anxiety and loss. The photographs have been buried inferring a lack of control over her personal outcomes, the contact with soil suggesting the frailty of human life and memory, reminding us of beginning and end, death and life and the imminence of passing of time.
