Event Details

This class promises to be an absolute treat as it includes LIFE DRAWING and PRINTMAKING. Drawing directly from the model you will be shown how you can use printmaking techniques to help you capture form, texture and atmosphere. Monotypes can make wonderfully loose, unexpected and painterly results which can be used to free up your drawing technique. Printmaking helps you discover accidental marks and textures that can inform the way you draw in new and exciting ways. This session will start with a short demonstration of the monotype process - we will then swiftly begin experimenting with various techniques before the model joins us at 10.45. We will be printing from the life model until 1pm with a short break at 12pm. Please note: Aside from the demonstration and first experimental stage where Frances will be on hand to help and guide you - the rest of the class will be untutored to leave space for self-led work. We will be making the prints with our LDG printing press!

This class will run most months so you have the chance to build on your print practice but is also great for complete beginners All materials needed included but please feel free to bring your own non-toxic ink and printing paper.
