Join us to share and discuss rights-focused approaches to arts participation, raising questions and discussing how a rights-focused approach might:
• Engage those most marginalised, excluded or discriminated against
• Address the power imbalances that create these conditions
• Advocate for structural and systemic change at personal, community, organisational and societal levels
• Highlight some of the ethical dilemmas of arts engagement work
This event is aimed at artists, arts professionals and those working in community settings. The Rights in Focus Network event takes place quarterly, and we welcome both returning and first time attendees - regardless of what stage in your career or practice you are at.
You will be encouraged to share learning, skills and resources from your own practice.
Lunch and refreshments are provided (included in ticket price).
