An opportunity to meet artist Sangeeta Bhagawati in our friendly artist-run gallery at Gabriel's Wharf .
Sangeeta is a London based Indian printmaker who creates beautiful lino prints combined with chine-collé, and large size monoprints. Chine-collé is when fine coloured papers are added to the base paper before printing. Sangeeta's art draws upon personal experience, growing up as a South Asian female in India: channelling feelings of rebellion, strength and communion into her recurring theme of women and body. Her cultural roots in India have shaped her practice – it’s a way for her to explore and belong to her roots.
