The Counter Press is a typographic design studio and letterpress workshop based in nearby Bow Arts P1 studios, five minutes’ walk from the gallery. A rare chance to see behind the scenes of a small working letterpress and to learn about the different presses. Visitors may also have the opportunity to have a go at printing! Booking is recommended for this free event as space is limited. Meet in the Nunnery Gallery, from which the Counter Press studio is a short five minute walk down Bow Road.
This event is part of the Lightboxes & Lettering event programme, which celebrates the fascinating and important history of east London's print industry, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. Access Information P1 studios has step-free access throughout from street level, including to the accessible toilet, and is service animal friendly. This venue does not have a hearing loop system.
