Arts / activism platform Tse Tse Fly Middle East return to North London this December with a full-scale live night at The Green Rooms Hotel in Wood Green. The event is part of the collective's 'Instruments of the State' project conceived to draw attention to the work of human rights NGOs War On Want and Stop The War, and will take place in the venue's gorgeous Art Deco gallery.
The evening will feature a curated selection of short experimental films that respond to the project's themes followed by live performances from Deerful and Pluton Ovarian. Literature and giveaways from War On Want and Stop The War will be available.
Pluton Ovarian - abstract electronics from the founder of underwater concert series Wet Sounds, Joel Cahen. Joel's work has been exhibited/performed at All Tomorrows Parties, Whitechapel Art Gallery, Tate Britain and more.
Deerful - famed for her lush electropop, for this event Deerful explores the experimental side of her practise, building a unique set of improvised instrumental live coding from scratch.
Tickets are £10 - buy in advance from the Green Rooms reception desk or pay on the door. Licensed bar.
Tse Tse Fly Middle East is a registered non-profit organisation with a remit of using live performances and interventions to highlight human rights and freedom of speech issues. Founded in the UAE in 2015, 2018 has been a pivotal year for the platform. Tse Tse Fly Middle East was named by tech giant Sonos as one of the top six change-making organisations in the UK. The British Library requested permission to add all our sonic and visual releases to their archive and we embarked on the Instruments of the State project.
