Women Centre Stage Symposium: Are we at the Tipping Point?

An afternoon event bringing together leading women across the theatre industry for a crucial and timely discussion on gender equality.

Hosted by Rosemary Squire DBE, the afternoon will begin with a Keynote Speech by Jude Kelly OBE speaking from her experience with the global success of Women of the World festival. Following the Keynote will be two panel discussions and a plenary. The panels will be responding to the key questions ‘Why are women so underrepresented across UK theatre?‘ and ‘Writing for main stages, what's holding female writers back?’.

Panelists and guests include; April De Angelis, Brigid Larmour, Cherrelle Skeete, Jennifer Tuckett, Jenny Sealey, Jude Kelly, Maureen Beattie, Morgan Lloyd Malcolm, Sue Parrish, Timberlake Wertenbaker, Victoria Sadler and Winsome Pinnock. Women Centre Stage Symposium is sponsored by Nick Hern Books and supported by Arts Council England and Hampstead Theatre. Our Media Partner is The Stage.
